Job Summary

We are looking for a General manager to take over the day to day operations of the Company. This is an ideal job for someone who is passionate about Agriculture and understands how farm equipment dealership and Agri-commodity value chain run. The General Manager will lead 3 business units: Agricultural equipment, Agri – Commodities value supply chain and Cold storage facilities.

The General Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of Agricom business strategy with a focus on innovation, strategic growth, and financial returns. The General Manager will lead the advancement of existing brands in the marketplace, as well as unlock strategic opportunities to enable additional value from Agricom portfolio. The General manager will lead business expansions and consolidations to optimize efficiencies and profitability.

The General Manager will be responsible for design, development, operation and continuous improvement of systems and processes that create and deliver products and services for the organization and not limited to planning, directing and coordinating company’s operations, production and value adding activities, ensuring output is commensurate with input, agreed targets and established standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Development;

  • Develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures that will improve the Company’s overall operations and effectiveness
  • Foster an environment that emphasizes effective internal controls, fiscal discipline and strong management systems
  • Analysing Company’s operations; Identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement
  • Provide leadership that inspires others to succeed and develop, and proactively share experiences,

knowledge and ideas

Operations;

  • Design, implement, enforce and continually improve the company documented systems, standards, policies which guide business activities
  • Build a culture that utilizes data and analytics to support strategic decisions, planning and budgeting
  • Asses principal risks and ensure that these risks are being monitored and managed
  • Ensure performance is constantly monitored against clearly established, defined and communicated

operational performance indicators

  • Ensure Company’s value creation activities are constantly aligned with market opportunities as when they emerge
  • Ensure the Company is always staffed with trained quality and engaged employees; work closely with the unit heads to develop effective hiring, and compensation plans to retain quality talents

Finance, Accounting and Reporting;

  • Review financial reports for action such as: Inventories including parts, inventory turnover, products, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial ratios, equipment and parts sales
  • Prepare annual budgeting, company asset reporting and auditing
  • Provide executive management with recommendations on the financial implications of business activities
  • Oversee financial performance and risk profiles while ensuring that all regulatory obligations are met
  • Translate the Company’s annual business plan objectives and targets into integrated company-wide

resource requirement plan and across all business units Business Development;

  • Develop additional business opportunities by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; proposing acquisition and expansion to regional and International Markets
  • Ensure the Company identifies, targets and secures business from new and existing customer groups

through on-going product improvement and design development of new products Innovation;

  • Provide vision to strategically enhance performance and new business opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with relevant experience
  • Minimum 7 years of working experience in senior management position in the sector of Agriculture
  • Senior executive with a proven track record of success in profitability building and leading consumer facing business ideally in agribusiness, processing and production, farm equipment dealership
  • Experience leading mid to large-sized companies with responsibility for P&L, ideally with both domestic and international businesses
  • A business and entrepreneurial mindset, operationally focused and can be hands-on working comfortably at all levels of the company
  • A strategic thinker who uses a pragmatic method in setting priorities and holding people accountable
  • Strong motivational skills, coach and leader of people focused on developing talent leadership terms capable of strengthening overall company performance
